You can find us over at 62/B/P on J.N. Mukherjee Road. Being in Ghusuri, Howrah, means you have to get used to the sounds of the city and the constant movement of vehicles outside the door. It’s an old part of the area, and our building has that weathered look that comes from being in a place where things are actually manufactured. Inside, the floor is concrete and there’s usually a bit of dust on the windowsills no matter how much we clean them. We don't spend money on fancy decorations or soft carpets. Instead, we have tools, workbenches, and whatever metal parts we are dealing with that week. It’s a hands-on kind of life. Sometimes the rain hits the roof so hard we have to shout to hear each other, but we just keep going. We know the shopkeepers nearby and the guys who deliver the mail. There’s a certain way of doing things here that doesn’t require a manual or a corporate policy. We just talk to each other and figure out the best way to fix whatever problem has come up. It’s a busy, sometimes messy environment, but it feels honest. We aren't trying to be something we're not. We are just a group of people working on J.N. Mukherjee Road, trying to finish the day's work and do a decent job of it before the sun goes down and the traffic starts to thin out a bit.
