You can find the Nikhil Bharat Kausal Vikas Council over at 119 Salkia School Road. Salkia is one of those old parts of the city where everything is cramped but full of life. Our office is right on the main school road. We’ve been working here to help people get better at various skills. It’s a council, but don't let the name make you think it's some big government office. It’s much more local than that. We have a small staff and we all do a bit of everything. One day we might be filing papers and the next we are helping someone learn a new skill. The building is old, like most things in Salkia. It has high ceilings and big windows that let in the street noise. We don't mind the noise, it's just part of being here. People stop by all the time just to ask questions. We try to be helpful to whoever walks through the door. We aren't into fancy presentations. We just use a chalkboard or a simple notebook to explain things. It’s the way we’ve always done it. The goal is just to help people in the area find better opportunities. We know the struggles people face around here because we live here too. It’s a basic setup but it works for the people who need us and we keep going.
