Technical Study Centre

Down in Majarauthowrah, specifically in the Salkia area of Howrah, the Technical Study Centre is tucked away. It’s not the easiest place to find if you’re new to the lanes here. We have some benches and some old wooden desks that have seen a lot of use over the years. You can hear the sounds of the street, the rickshaws, and the vendors while we are inside. It’s a place for learning, I guess, but it feels more like a community spot. We don't have air conditioning, just the ceiling fans that wobble a bit. The walls are covered in some old charts and some notes we taped up months ago. There is always a smell of old paper and maybe some incense from the shop next door. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us who know the subjects. It’s a bit cramped when everyone shows up at the same time, but we make it work. We spend a lot of time explaining things and writing on the board. The chalk dust gets everywhere, even on our clothes. Howrah is a busy place, and Salkia is no different. We try to keep the door open to let some air in, even if it brings in the noise. It is just a simple place where people come to get some help with their studies. Nothing more, nothing less. We’ve been here for years and it is just our routine.
