Our shop is right on Shibpur Road in Howrah, which can get pretty chaotic during the rainy season. It’s an old building, and the walls have some damp patches that we’ve tried painting over a few times. We carry a bit of everything, mostly groceries and household stuff that families nearby use every day. People around here call it Avinandan, and most of our customers have been coming to us for years. You’ll see the same faces every morning picking up their daily needs. We don't have a big staff, just us managing the counter and making sure the jars are topped up. The space is a bit cramped because we try to fit in as many items as possible on the wooden racks. Sometimes it’s hard to find things quickly when the shop gets crowded, but we eventually manage to locate whatever someone is looking for. The traffic outside is always loud with horns and rickshaws going by, so we have to speak up quite a bit. It’s not a polished place with bright lights, just a regular neighborhood store where the floor might be a little uneven. We deal with the heat and the power cuts just like everyone else on this street. It’s hard work, but this is what we know. We just focus on keeping the basics in stock so nobody has to go too far for salt, oil, or matches.
