Malote Veraty Store

Malote Veraty Store is situated right on the busy G.T. Road in Howrah. You can find us at number 425, which is quite close to the Pikhana More crossing. Being on such a main road means it is never quiet around here. There are always buses and trucks going past, but that helps bring people to the shop. We call it a variety store because we try to keep a little bit of everything. If you need some plastic buckets, some stationery, or even some small gift items, we probably have it tucked away somewhere on a shelf. The shop is packed from floor to ceiling, and sometimes it takes a minute to find exactly what a customer wants. We don't have a big staff, just a couple of us working the counter and helping people. It can get quite dusty with all the traffic from G.T. Road, so we are always wiping things down. We've been here for a good while and have seen the road get busier and busier every year. We don't use any fancy marketing tricks. We just put some items out front so people see what we have and then they come in. It’s an honest way to make a living. Most of our customers are locals who are just passing by on their way to work or home. We just keep the shop open and keep the shelves full. Sometimes the floor gets messy from people coming in from the rain, but we sweep it up and keep going.
