Kishori Mohan Skill Developmentfoundation is located at 55/1, Rabindra Sarani in Liluah, Howrah. Liluah is a busy, industrial kind of place and we are right in the thick of it. We focus on teaching skills that people can actually use to find work. It’s not about theory here. It’s about getting your hands dirty and learning how to do something useful. We have a few different rooms for different types of training. It gets pretty loud on Rabindra Sarani with the traffic and the trains nearby. We started this foundation because we saw so many people in Howrah who had the will to work but didn't have the specific training they needed. We aren't a big institution with lots of funding. We make do with what we have. Sometimes the roof leaks a bit when it rains hard, but we just move the tables and keep going. It’s a very practical environment. We don't have any polished receptionists or glass-walled offices. It’s just a place where people come to learn a trade. We’ve been here for a few years now and most of the local shopkeepers know us. We are just trying to help the community in Liluah by giving folks a chance to improve their lives. It’s simple, honest work and we take it one day at a time without making a big fuss about things.
