Hindustan Canvas Company

Hindustan Canvas Company is located at No. 10 Kishanla Burman Road in the Bandhaghat area. If you walk down towards the water, you’ll find us in a building that has seen a lot of history. We work with canvas, which is a heavy, tough material that takes a lot of effort to handle. The air in our workspace always has that specific smell of treated fabric and old machinery. We have these big, heavy-duty sewing machines that make a rhythmic thumping sound all day long. It’s not a quiet place, and it’s certainly not a clean one, as there are always scraps of canvas and thread all over the floor. We spend our hours measuring out large sheets, cutting them to size, and stitching them together for whatever the customer needs. Some days we are making covers for trucks, and other days it might be something else entirely. Our hands get calloused from the rough texture of the cloth, but we are used to it. We don't have a website or any fancy advertisements; people usually just know where we are and what we do. The neighborhood of Bandhaghat is always busy with people moving goods back and forth, and we feel like a natural part of that bustle. We’ve been here for years, just doing the same practical work day in and day out. It’s a solid trade, and we don't see any reason to change how we do things.
