Down in Ghusuri, we’ve got this small place on Kundan Bye Lane. It’s number 3. The lane is quite narrow, so you have to watch where you walk. Geet Sammelan has been around here for some time now. We deal with music and local gatherings. Most days it’s just us sitting inside with some old instruments. Maybe a harmonium needs some tuning or someone is asking about a sound setup for a small local program. Howrah is always crowded, and our lane is no different. You can hear the sounds from the main road all day long. We have some old chairs for when people come by to talk about their events. The walls have a few old photos from past events we helped with. It’s not a modern office by any means. We have a lot of registers where we write everything down by hand. Computers are okay, but we still prefer using paper for our notes. The light in the lane is a bit dim in the evenings. We know most of the people living around Kundan Bye Lane. Sometimes we just sit out front on a stool and watch the world go by. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. If there’s music to be played or an event to organize, we just do it. It’s simple. We don't have big signs. Just a small door in a busy part of Howrah.
