You can find Dev Cements at 248/3/F, right on the G.T. Road. Being on such a main road means it’s always loud with traffic, but it’s good for business because everyone passes by. We have a pretty small storefront and a yard in the back. It’s a family-run kind of thing, so there’s always someone around who knows the history of the place. We don’t have any fancy brochures or a marketing team. We just sell cement to whoever walks in or calls up. The G.T. Road is always undergoing some kind of repair, so we see a lot of construction right outside our door. It’s dusty and noisy, but we’ve gotten used to it over the years. We keep the paperwork in a bunch of old folders and try our best to stay on top of things. Most of our customers are regulars who have been coming to us for years. We like to keep things on a first-name basis. It’s not a high-pressure environment. We just want to get through the day and make sure the orders are correct. Sometimes the delivery truck breaks down and we have to scramble to find another way, but that’s just part of the life. We don’t make things more complicated than they need to be. It’s just bags of cement and a lot of patience. If the gate is open, we’re probably inside working on something.
