Das Engineering

Das Engineering is tucked away in Dasbaga, which is part of the Uluberia area in Howrah. If you are coming from the main part of town, it takes a bit of time to get through the narrow lanes. We have a small workshop here where we do most of our engineering tasks. It is not a large operation, just a few of us who have been doing this for a long time. The Dist- Howrah area is known for this kind of work, so there are plenty of people around who know their way around a machine. The walls of the shop are stained with oil and there is always a bit of metal shavings on the floor, no matter how much we sweep. We don't have a website or any of that stuff, we just deal with people who walk in or call us because they know we are here in Dasbaga. The rain in Howrah can be a real problem, sometimes the water comes right up to the door and we have to move everything onto higher blocks. We just take the work as it comes and try to do a decent job of it. Sometimes we stay late if a part is needed urgently, and other days we close up early if the power stays cut for too long. It is a simple, local way of doing things, and we are fine with that. It is just how things have always been done around here.
