Annapurna Engineering

Annapurna Engineering is right on Station Road in Andul. Being so close to the station means we hear the trains going by all day long, which you eventually just stop noticing. It’s a busy, gritty kind of place because we do a lot of metalwork and repair. There’s usually a bit of grease on the floor and the smell of cut iron in the air. We have a few old machines that have been running forever and they still do the job better than the new ones sometimes. Our workspace isn't very tidy, but every tool has its place and we know exactly where they are. People from the district bring us things that need fixing or they want us to make something specific out of steel. We don't have a fancy website or a front desk person. Usually, you just walk in and find one of us working on a project. We spend a lot of time measuring things and making sure the welds are solid. It’s hard work on the back and the hands, but it’s satisfying to finish a piece. We keep it simple and don't try to sound like a big engineering firm. We are just a local shop in Andul trying to do good work for the people around here. Most days we stay late to finish up a job that’s promised for the next morning. It's just the daily grind.
