Siddheswar Engineering & Trading Company

We are located at 6/1C/2/1A on Raja Apurba Krishna Lane. If you know this part of Kolkata, you know these narrow lanes can be a bit of a maze. Our building is old but very sturdy. We do a mix of engineering and trading here. This means our space is half office and half storage. We have boxes of parts stacked up to the ceiling in some places. It is a bit dark inside because the buildings are so close together. We use a lot of tube lights even during the middle of the day. The street outside is usually full of rickshaws and people walking. It is a very lively place to be. We have been here for many years. The walls have some damp patches from the heavy monsoon rain. We don't bother painting them too often because of the humidity. We just focus on getting the orders out. Trading involves a lot of paperwork and checking our inventory. Sometimes we have to move everything around just to find one specific valve or pipe. It is a bit of a workout. We know the tea seller at the end of the lane very well. He knows exactly how much sugar we like in our cups. We don't have a website or anything fancy like that. People just call us or stop by the lane. It is a very old-fashioned way of doing things.
