Working out of Ambika Kundu Bye Lane in Howrah is definitely interesting. We are located near Howrah Homes Road, so there are always people walking by and kids playing nearby. It’s more of a neighborhood feel than a big industrial site. Since we go by the name Agriculture, people sometimes stop and ask us for advice on their home gardens, even though we mostly deal with the bigger stuff. The space in Santragachi is a bit tight, so we have to be careful about how we stack things. We spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who drop in from the district. It’s a lot of manual work, moving sacks around and keeping track of what’s in the store. The humidity here in Howrah can be a real pain, especially during the monsoon months when everything feels damp. We just try to keep the place dry and the products safe. It’s not a fancy office with air conditioning or anything like that. Just some fans and a lot of hard work. We’ve got a few old desks and some shelving that’s seen better days. Every morning we open up the shutters and see what the day brings. Sometimes it's slow and we just sit and have tea, other times it’s a mad rush to get things loaded up. We just take it as it comes. It's a decent living for us here in this little lane and we wouldn't want to be anywhere else right now.
