Tanayadasgupta

Tanayadasgupta is the name on the door here at 310, Chowmatha Lane. The building is called Radha Kunja and it’s located in Chinsurah, in the Hooghly district. The pin code is 712101. Chinsurah is a place with a lot of history, but our day-to-day is pretty modern and basic. We work out of this space on Chowmatha Lane, which can get quite busy during the morning hours. The office is just a regular room. It’s got enough space for us to move around, but it’s definitely not a ballroom. We have some shelves filled with books and folders that we've collected over the years. The air stays a bit cool because of the way the building is tucked in, which is nice during the summer. We don't have any flashy branding or a website that looks like a movie. It’s just us here. Sometimes we have a lot to do and we stay late, other times it’s a bit slower and we can head home early to beat the rain. The lane outside is narrow, so you hear the bells of the cycles and the occasional motorbike zooming past. We’ve gotten to know the people who live in the other flats in Radha Kunja. It feels like a small community rather than just a place of business. We’re just regular people trying to make a living.
