Suman Das

Out here in Naldanga, Kumarbagan, things move at a slightly different pace than in the big cities. We are located in the Hooghly district, not too far from the Bandel post office. Suman Das started this up, and it’s been a staple in the local area for some time. Our place is easy to find if you know where the main road turns toward the station. It’s a modest building, nothing fancy at all, just some solid walls and a roof that keeps the rain out during the monsoon. We handle various bits of business that keep the local folk coming back. Inside, it’s mostly just us sitting around a couple of tables with our ledgers and some basic equipment. It’s a bit dusty sometimes because of the road nearby, but that’s just how it is in this part of West Bengal. We drink a lot of tea while we work. The pin code is 712123, just in case someone is trying to send us something by mail. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing person. Most of what we do comes from word of mouth or people just walking in because they saw the sign. Suman is usually sitting near the back, making sure the entries are correct. It’s a steady kind of life, and we are quite content with the way things are going.
