Larsen & Toubro Ltd.

Working out of the Serampore Housing Estate at Phase-I is a bit different than being in a big city center. We are over at M.I.G. 78 here in Rishra. It is a quiet place for the most part, though you hear the kids playing outside sometimes during the day. Being in the Hooghly district means things move a little slower than in Kolkata, which we actually like. The office is basically a converted space in the estate. We spend our mornings checking emails and getting through the logs. Larsen & Toubro Ltd. has been at this address for a good bit now. Sometimes the mail gets mixed up because the numbering in the housing estate is a bit confusing for new delivery guys. We usually have to go out to the gate to show them where we are. Our team is small here. We mostly just look after the local requirements and make sure the projects stay on track. There is a small tea stall just down the road where we go when we need a break from the computers. It’s not some high-tech glass building, just a practical place to get the work done. The walls are a bit plain and the furniture has seen better days, but it works for us. We just keep our heads down and do the job as best as we can. That’s how life goes here in Rishra. It is a simple setup but it keeps us busy enough every day of the week.
