Choudhary Chotiwala Bhojnalya

Surewala Chowk in Hissar is where we have been for a long time now. Choudhary Chotiwala Bhojnalya is situated right near the Maharania Petrol Pump which is a landmark most people use to find us. It is a dusty corner of town and the wind blows across the road quite a bit. We spend a lot of time sweeping the entrance because of that. The kitchen is small but we manage to get everything done. We do not use any big machines or anything. It is mostly just hands doing the work of chopping and stirring the big pots. Most of the people who come here are workers from nearby or people who are getting fuel for their vehicles. We have some wooden tables and the chairs are a bit old but they work fine for a quick meal. We do not have a website or any of that stuff. People just know where we are because they see the sign when they are driving by. We try to keep the water cold in the summer because the heat in Hissar can be really tough for everyone. My father started this and now we just carry it on. Some days the market nearby is closed and things get quiet but mostly it is just a steady flow of people looking for a meal. We do not make a big deal out of it. We just open the doors and start the day like everyone else around here.
