A S Foods is over in Khanna Nagar in Haridwar. We are right opposite the Jagat Petrol Pump, which is a handy landmark because otherwise, people might miss our turn. Being in Haridwar, we see a lot of people passing through, especially during the busy seasons when the town is full of pilgrims and travelers. Our day-to-day is mostly about the food. We aren't a big factory or anything; it’s a more hands-on operation. We get our supplies from the local markets and spend the mornings prepping vegetables and getting the dough ready. The smell of frying usually starts early and stays in the air all day. It gets pretty hot in the kitchen, especially during the summer months, but we just get on with it. We don't have a marketing department or a website guy. We just focus on what's on the stove. Sometimes the petrol pump across the street gets a huge line of trucks, and it makes the road a bit messy, but that’s just part of being in this location. We’ve had the same people working here for years, so we don’t have to talk much to know who is doing what. We just want to make sure the food tastes like it’s supposed to and that we don't run out of anything before the day is over. It’s a simple life, really, just cooking and cleaning up after the rush.
