Dr. Br Ambedkar Polytechnic College

Dr. Br Ambedkar Polytechnic College is located out on Jhansi Road in Gwalior. It’s a large enough place with several buildings for different departments. You’ll see the students standing around the entrance or walking from the bus stop nearby in the mornings. Inside, there are workshops where the floor usually has some oil or scrap metal on it from the practical classes. It’s not a quiet place. You hear the sounds of machines and instructors explaining things over the noise. The 474009 area gets quite dusty, especially in the summer months. The benches in the classrooms are old and a bit shaky, but they serve the purpose. We have a canteen that sells tea and some snacks, which is where most people hang out during the breaks. The office is usually piled with papers and old records that have been there for ages. It’s a government-run feel, very straightforward and no-nonsense. We don’t have air conditioning in most rooms, so the ceiling fans stay on all day long to keep the air moving. Most of the staff live nearby and have been working here for a long time. It’s just a place where young people come to learn technical things so they can find work later on. There’s no big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the wall near the main gate. It feels like any other local college in Madhya Pradesh where everyone is just trying to get through their daily schedule and finish their work on time.
