Arren Institute

Our place is on the second floor of Maazi Plaza. It is right at the Jawahar Colony Tiraha on Kampoo Road in Lashkar. Being on the second floor means we get a good view of the traffic at the intersection, though it can be a bit loud. The plaza is a busy spot with different shops on the ground floor. You have to climb the stairs to get to us; there isn't an elevator. By the time you get up here, you’ve had a bit of a workout. The space inside is divided into a couple of rooms for teaching. We have a small area where we keep the bags and helmets. It’s a very straightforward setup. We don't have fancy glass partitions or plush carpets. The floor is just plain tiles that we sweep every morning. Most of our students come from the Lashkar side or travel down Kampoo Road. It’s a convenient spot for them. We spend a lot of time sitting at the main desk answering the phone or talking to people who walk in. The afternoon sun hits the windows pretty hard, so we keep the curtains drawn most of the time. It’s just a regular office where we do our work. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the decor. It’s about the books and the lessons. Sometimes we stay late when there are exams coming up. That’s just the way it goes here.
