Running things at Navratan means being right in the middle of everything in Rani Bazar. If you know Fancy Bazar, you know how crowded it gets, and Kamarpatty is no different. We spend most of our mornings just setting things up while the street starts to wake up. It gets loud with all the rickshaws and people talking, but you get used to it after a few weeks. Our spot isn't anything special to look at, just a regular place where we keep our stock and handle the daily walk-ins. Some days are much slower than others, especially when the weather is too hot for people to be out shopping. We usually have a tea around four o'clock just to take a break from the noise. It’s been our routine for years now. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If someone asks for something specific, we usually have to dig around a bit to find it, but it’s always there somewhere. Being in this part of town means you meet all kinds of people every single day. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We’re just a local business trying to stay busy in a very busy market. It’s a bit dusty and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but it’s home for us and it works for what we do.
