Malibru Tea Industries

Our business, Malibru Tea Industries, is located in Khemka House over at Chandmarighat. This is right in the Paltan-Bazar area, which is probably the busiest part of town. Between the railway station and the river, there is always something going on outside our windows. We handle a lot of the industrial side of tea from this office. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes in Khemka House, but we’ve been here long enough that we know every creak in the floorboards. The noise of the market and the ferry whistles from the ghat are just part of our daily background. We spend a lot of time on the logistics of moving tea. There are always trucks trying to navigate the narrow streets of Paltan-Bazar to get to us. We have a small group of workers who handle the loading and the paperwork. It’s not a glamorous job. Most days involve a lot of shouting over the traffic and making sure the crates are labeled right. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, but the tea business stays pretty much the same. We just keep our heads down and focus on the shipments. People know us as the tea people near the ghat. We don't need much more than that to keep going.
