Our place is located at number 9 in Srinagar. It’s a quiet enough area compared to the city center, which really helps when we’re trying to get things organized in the warehouse. We handle Assam tea, so the rooms are filled with those large plywood chests and heavy bags stacked up. It’s a very basic setup without any of the fancy frills you see in newer offices. We have a couple of old desks where we keep track of the stock coming in from the tea estates. Most of our time is spent checking the quality of the leaves and making sure everything is stored in a dry place. The building is older, and the rooms have high ceilings which keep the air a bit cooler during the hot summers. We don’t really do much advertising or marketing. Most of the people we deal with have known us for years. It’s just a handful of us working here, so we all end up doing a bit of everything, from moving heavy boxes to answering the old telephone. The natural light in the morning is good for looking at the tea color in the cups. We drink a lot of tea ourselves, mostly just to check the quality of what we have on hand. It isn't a high-tech operation at all. We rely on our senses and our experience. It's a steady way to spend the day. Srinagar is a decent spot for us to be located in for now.
