Darishann Bricks

Our place is right in Village Khetri, not too far from the National Highway 37. If you are coming from Guwahati, you will probably pass right by our gates. We have been set up here in Kamrup for a good bit now. It is mostly just us and the machines out in the yard most days. Making bricks in this kind of heat isn't for everyone, but we have got ourselves a good rhythm. We see a whole lot of traffic passing by on the highway, but life inside the village stays a bit slower. We spend our days stacking, firing, and waiting for those kilns to finally cool down enough to touch. It is hard work, and our hands are almost always stained with that red earth. Sometimes the rain messes with our drying schedule, which can be a real headache for everyone. We just deal with it as it comes. We aren't some big corporation with people in suits; we are just local folks. We know our neighbors and they know us. Most of our bricks end up in houses being built nearby or sometimes they go into the city. We do not have a fancy showroom for people to sit in. You just pull up your truck, talk to one of us, and we figure out the delivery details. It gets pretty noisy with the trucks, but that is just how a brick field is. We keep things simple here.
