Our business, Assam Tea Warehousing Co., is situated right by the Dispur Supermarket. We are very close to the Gulshan Grand, so it’s an easy place for people to find. Dispur is a busy part of town, especially with the supermarket crowd coming and going all day. Being a warehouse, we have a lot of space, but it’s mostly filled with tea bags and wooden crates. It’s not the quietest place because there is always some loading or unloading happening near the entrance. The floor is concrete and a bit scuffed from all the heavy lifting. We don’t have a fancy office area, just a small corner with a desk and some chairs where we keep our records. You can smell the tea the moment you walk through the big doors. It’s a dry, earthy smell that stays on your clothes. Sometimes it gets quite hot in the warehouse during the summer months, but we just keep the fans running and stay busy. We have a small crew that has worked here for years. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a polished image. We are just a local warehousing company making sure the tea is stored properly before it moves on. It’s hard work and it can be repetitive, but it’s what we do. We like being near the Gulshan Grand because it’s a good landmark for the delivery trucks to find us.
