Assam Tea Traders

Assam Tea Traders is located in Fancy Bazar on A.T. Road. We are directly opposite the Rupash Cinema Hall. It’s a very busy part of town, especially when a new movie is playing and the crowds are everywhere. We’ve been at this spot for quite a while. The shop isn't much more than a room full of tea. We have some old chairs for when visitors come, but mostly we are on our feet. The traffic on A.T. Road is always heavy, so there is a lot of noise and dust coming in from the front. We don't mind it much. We trade tea in bulk, mostly dealing with the gardens and the smaller sellers. We don't have a fancy showroom. It's just sacks of tea and some paperwork on a wooden desk. Sometimes we get a chance to go across to the cinema hall, but usually, we are too busy with the orders. We don't have a big marketing plan. We just rely on the fact that we've been here for years and people know we aren't going anywhere. We drink tea all day long, trying the different batches that come in. It’s a straightforward business. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just trade the tea and hope the next day is as steady as the last one.
