Assam Quality Tea

Assam Quality Tea is located out in Nagabandha Village, specifically in Ward No 3. We are right near the post office and the police station, so it’s a very safe and easy-to-find spot in the Laharighat Tehsil. This part of Marigaon District is very green and we are surrounded by a lot of tea history. Our building is just a simple structure where we process and pack the tea that comes in from the nearby areas. It is quiet here most of the time, except for when the tea arrives or when people are visiting the police station nearby. We have a small staff of local people from the village who know everything there is to know about tea leaves. The work changes with the seasons. When it rains a lot, we have to be careful about the moisture in the air inside the storage room. We use old-fashioned methods for a lot of things because that’s how we learned. There is a lot of hand-sorting involved to make sure the sticks and dust are gone. Sometimes we sit outside on the porch when the work is done for the day and watch the villagers go by on their cycles. It isn't a fast-paced life, but it’s what we know. We just focus on getting the bags filled and ready for the market. People know us as the local tea guys and that is fine by us. We keep our overhead low and our hands busy.
