Rajindra Painting Work

We are over at Shop No. 201 in the Anand Ganga Complex. It is right on Jail Road, which stays pretty crowded most of the day. Our shop is up on the second floor. It is a bit of a climb if you are not used to stairs. We have paint cans stacked everywhere because that is what we do. You can usually smell the thinner and the fresh paint before you even walk inside the door. We spend a lot of time mixing colors and getting brushes ready. Most days my hands are covered in some shade of white or yellow. It is hard work but it is what we know. The complex itself is quite old and has a lot of other shops too. Sometimes the parking downstairs is a nightmare because of the traffic on Jail Road. We see all kinds of people coming through. Some want their houses painted and others just need a small bit of work done. We do not use any big machines or anything, just our hands and some good ladders. Lunch is usually just something brought from home eaten sitting on a plastic stool. When the sun goes down, we start packing up the brushes. It gets quiet in the complex after seven. We have been here long enough that most of the neighbors know us by name. It is a decent place to work and we just keep at it day after day.
