New Mewat Fisheries Farmers Producercompany Limited is based in Ward No. 10, over in VPO Dhekli. We are at house number 01. Now, fisheries might seem different from regular farming, but it is just as much work. You have to watch the water levels and the temperature all the time. In Dhekli, we have some good spots for this, and we’ve been at it for a while now. We aren't a big industrial operation with shiny trucks. We are just local folks who know how to raise fish. The office in Ward 10 is where we handle the accounts and talk to the guys who come to buy. It’s a plain room, nothing special to look at. We spend more time outside anyway. Managing a fishery means your hands are usually wet or dirty, and you’re always tired by the end of the day. We got together because selling fish individually was a headache. Now we try to do it as a group. It’s not always smooth. Sometimes the tanks have issues or the transport is late. We don't have a PR person to make us sound good. We just tell it like it is. If the catch is good, we’re happy. If not, we figure out why and try again the next day. That is just how life is in this part of Mewat for us.
