Mankarai Farms

If you head down Barley Road toward Bahadur Ganj, you will find us at Mankarai Farms. We are situated near South City, so we aren't too far from where everything happens, but it still feels like the country out here. Farming is a lot of work that never really stops. There is always something to fix or a patch of ground that needs attention. The weather is our biggest boss, really. Some days it is too hot to do much, and other days we are rushing before the rain starts. We spend most of our time outside, so we don't worry much about how the office looks. It's mostly just a place to keep the tools and the records. People from around Bahadur Ganj know us well enough. We have seen the area change a bit over the years with the city creeping closer, but we are still out here on the farm. It's a simple way of living, even if the work is hard on the back. We grow what we can and try to keep the land in good shape. There are no fancy signs or big advertisements here. Just the farm and the people who work on it every day. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when the machinery is running. We usually have a cup of tea in the morning before the sun gets too high and the real work begins.
