We operate out of Ward No. 11 on Fazilpur Road, right in the rural part of Farrukhnagar. The records are kept at Babu Lal’s place. Farrukhnagar Farmer Producer Company Limited is what we call ourselves when we’re doing official business, but locally everyone just knows who we are. It’s a group effort by the farmers around here. We needed a way to manage our harvests and get a better deal for our crops, so we started this. It’s not a polished business with a shiny lobby. It’s more about sitting on a porch or in a small room talking about the price of seeds and the weather forecast. Being in Farrukhnagar Rural means we are right where the action is. We see the fields every day and we know when the rain is coming just by looking at the sky. Babu Lal handles a lot of the day-to-day stuff for us at his house. We don't have a lot of fancy technology, just the basics to keep things moving. It’s a hard life sometimes, but being part of this collective makes it a bit easier to handle the ups and downs. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the families in Ward No. 11 and the rest of the rural area have a fair shot. It’s simple, it’s local, and it’s just us. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or shiny brochures.
