Out here in Chhajju Nagala, life is pretty much tied to the ground we walk on. Chhajju Nagla Batth Producer Company Limited operates right out of the village, specifically over at Narender Singh’s place. He is the son of Bhajan Singh, and most people around here know the family well. It isn't a corporate setup with glass walls or anything. It’s more of a functional space where we handle the business of being producers. We spend most of our time talking about the crops and how the season is looking. Some days are busier than others, especially when the harvest is coming in and everyone is trying to get things organized. It can get a bit loud and messy, but that is just how it goes when you are working with the land. We don't have any fancy titles or uniforms. We just do the work that needs doing. Sometimes we sit out front and just talk shop with the neighbors. It is a quiet village for the most part, but our work keeps us plenty busy. Dealing with the day to day stuff like supplies and logistics takes up a lot of time. We aren't trying to be the biggest thing out there. We just want to make sure the work we do here in Chhajju Nagala counts for something and that we keep moving forward. It’s just us, working from a house, trying to make it all work out.
