Candle & Bloom

Candle & Bloom is tucked away on the ground floor of Ambience Mall, right next to where Debenhams used to be in DLF City Phase III. It’s a nice little corner, though it can get really crowded on the weekends when everyone is out shopping. Working here means you get used to the constant hum of the mall and the music playing in the background. We spend a lot of our time arranging the displays and making sure everything looks decent on the shelves. It’s a lot of work with our hands, unpacking boxes and checking for any broken bits. The shop usually smells like whatever candles we’ve got out that day, which is one of the better parts of the job. We aren’t trying to be some high-end boutique with an attitude. We’re just a shop where you can find something nice for your home or a quick gift. Sometimes we have long chats with customers who can’t decide between two different scents, and other times it’s just quick transactions. The mall environment is fast, but we try to keep our pace a bit more relaxed. We’ve had a few spills and broken jars over time—that’s just part of life here. We just clean it up and keep going. It’s a simple business, really. We like being in this part of Gurgaon because there’s always a new face walking through the door every few minutes and it keeps things interesting for us.
