You can find us at 200/5 in the Main Market of Patel Nagar. It’s right on the main road in Gurgaon Village, so it’s always noisy and full of people. We have been selling clothes here for a while. The shop is narrow, with racks of shirts and trousers lining both walls. We try to keep things sorted by size, but customers move things around throughout the day. I usually stand by the door to greet people or keep an eye on the street. The main market is a tough place to work because it’s so competitive, but we have our regulars. We get our stock from various suppliers and try to pick things that aren't too expensive. The lightbulbs in the back are a bit dim, so I tell people to bring the fabric closer to the front to see the color properly. We don't have a changing room, just a small curtained area in the corner. It’s a simple setup. My brother comes by in the evenings to help close up. We spend a lot of time folding and refolding clothes. It’s a lot of standing, and the floor is just plain cement. People negotiate a lot over prices here, that’s just how the market works. We drink a lot of water because it gets hot with the sun hitting the front window. The noise from the honking rickshaws outside never really stops until very late at night.
