Our shop is at number 20 on Basai Road, right across from Tirath Ram Hospital. It is a long, narrow space filled with all kinds of plates, bowls, and drinking glasses. We have stacks of dinner sets that go all the way to the back. You have to be careful when walking around because the aisles are quite thin and everything is breakable. We spend a lot of time unpacking crates of ceramic mugs and checking for any chips or cracks. The sound of clinking glass is pretty much the background noise here. People come in looking for a single replacement plate or a whole set for their kitchen. We also keep some pressure cookers and pans near the front window. The sun hits the glass jars in the afternoon and makes the whole shop look quite bright. It’s a bit of a dusty job, honestly. We use old rags to wipe down the display pieces every few days. The street outside is always busy with people going to the hospital or catching buses. We have been in this spot for years, and most people in the neighborhood know where we are. We don't have any fancy displays. It’s just rows of dishes on metal shelves. We wrap everything in thick paper and tie it with string for the customers to carry home safely.
