Special Gift Wrapping

You can find us at C11- GF in Mayfield Gardens, which is over in Sector 50. We are on the ground floor, which makes it easy for people to drop off big boxes that need to be wrapped. The space is pretty much taken up by rolls of paper, huge spools of ribbon, and different kinds of boxes. It’s a lot of standing on your feet all day, measuring out lengths of paper and making sure the corners are folded neatly. We don’t do anything too fancy, just honest work with our hands. Sector 50 is a busy part of town, and Mayfield Gardens has a lot of people moving in and out, so we see a lot of different faces. Sometimes the floor is covered in scraps of paper that we have to sweep up every couple of hours. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just a practical room where the work happens. People bring us all sorts of things, from small jewelry boxes to big electronics, and we just figure out how to make them look presentable. The scissors always seem to go missing right when you need them, and the tape dispenser is always running out at the wrong time. It’s a bit of a mess during the holidays, but we like the pace. Most of the time it’s just the sound of paper crinkling and the radio playing while we work. It’s a basic business.
