Sethi Foundry Works

Sethi Foundry Works is located over at Guru Gobind Singh Gali, near the Delhi GPO. It’s one of those narrow lanes where you have to watch your step because there’s always something being moved around. The address is 1977668, but honestly, once you get into the Gali, you just follow the sound of the work being done. It gets pretty hot in here, especially in the afternoons when the furnaces are going full tilt. We’ve been casting metal for a long time, and the floor is covered in sand and soot, which is just how a foundry looks. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don't really need to talk much to know what needs doing next. There’s a small shop around the corner that sells the best samosas, and that’s usually our lunch. Dealing with molten metal isn't for everyone, but it’s what we do here in Delhi. The air is thick, and the noise is constant, but there is a rhythm to it that feels right. Sometimes the delivery trucks get stuck in the narrow street, and we all have to go out and help guide them through. It’s just part of the daily routine. We don't have a big front office or anything like that. You just walk in through the main gate and you’ll find us near the back where the molds are kept.
