About Rohilla Sewing Machine Co – Industrial Plant & Machines in Gurgaon
If you head down Palam Gurgaon Road and turn into State Bank Gali in Dundahera, you’ll see where we work. Our shop is full of old metal and the smell of machine oil. We’ve got sewing machines in various states of repair everywhere you look. Some are brand new in boxes and others are so old they look like they belong in a museum. It gets pretty oily on the counters because we’re always taking things apart to see why they stopped stitching right. The street outside is usually a mess of traffic, especially near the bank, so it’s never really quiet here. We spend a lot of time searching for small screws or specific bobbins that rolled under a workbench. People come in with their machines wrapped in old blankets, hoping we can get them running again by the evening. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. It’s just racks of parts and heavy iron bodies of machines. Sometimes we sit out front on plastic chairs when there’s a lull in the work. The walls are a bit stained from years of grease, but that’s just part of being a repair shop. We know most of the tailors around this part of Gurgaon. They drop by just to chat even if their machines are working fine. It’s a simple life, just fixing things and making sure the needles keep moving. Sometimes we get a real challenge with a machine that hasn't run in twenty years.
