Being right by Narshing Pur on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway means we hear the trucks all day. Raghbeer Machiniry is based in Acharya Puri Village, and you can’t miss the sound of the traffic; it’s a constant background noise while we work on the equipment. We have a fairly large space here because the machines we deal with are heavy and take up a lot of room. Most of the time, the floor is covered in a bit of grease or metal shavings. We have a small crew of guys who are good with their hands and don't mind getting dirty. The office is a separate little room where the air conditioner tries its best to keep the dust out. We spend our days taking things apart and putting them back together. There is always a pile of old parts in the corner that we might use for something else later. When the sun goes down, the highway lights come on and it feels a bit different. We usually close up around seven, after we’ve wiped down the tools and locked the main gate. It’s a straightforward business. We don't have any glossy brochures or anything like that. People come to us because they know we are here and we’ve been doing this for a while. It’s just about keeping the machines running and making sure the work is done before the next day starts.
