We have a couple of spots where we keep things running. One is G-69 in Ambience Mall on N.H. 8, right on the ground floor. Then we also have a presence over at MGF Metropolitan Mall on MG Road, specifically at No. 77/77A. Running a watch business in two big malls like that keeps us on our toes. We spend a lot of time traveling between the two locations, making sure everything is in order. The malls are always noisy and bright, which is a big change from when we are just sitting quietly working on a watch movement. It’s a lot of looking through tiny magnifying glasses and dealing with very small parts that like to bounce off the table. We’ve seen the malls change quite a bit over the years as new stores come and go. At Ambience Mall, the foot traffic is pretty steady, especially on the weekends. Over at MGF Metropolitan, it feels a bit different, but the work is the same. We have glass cases that need cleaning every single morning because of the fingerprints. It’s not a glamorous job, even if the malls are fancy. We are mostly just concerned with the gears and the batteries. Sometimes we get a watch that is older than we are, and those are the ones that take the most time to handle. It’s just us and the ticking sounds for most of the day. We keep the tools sharp.
