Ice Boy

Working at Ice Boy over here at Plot No. 64 in Phase I of Udyog Vihar is definitely a cold job. If you walk inside our place, the first thing you notice is how the temperature drops compared to the heat outside in the industrial area. We spend most of our day around large machines that make ice and trucks that come in to pick it up. The floor is almost always a bit wet, so you have to watch your step. It's a loud environment too, with the hum of the compressors going all day and night. We’ve been at this address for some time now and most of the guys working here have been around since the start. It isn’t a glamorous business by any means. We wear heavy jackets even when it’s forty degrees outside. Udyog Vihar gets really crowded with all the office workers and factory staff, so getting our delivery vans out on time can be a real challenge. We mostly just focus on keeping the machines running and making sure the ice is ready when people need it. There’s always something that needs fixing or a pipe that needs tightening. We don’t have fancy furniture or a big lobby. It’s just the production floor and a small corner for the paperwork. It gets the job done and keeps us busy from morning until late at night.
