Guru Ji Sewing Machine. We are set up in Sector 18, right opposite the Siemens building. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows where Siemens is. Our place is pretty basic. We have different types of sewing machines lined up, some for home use and others for more heavy-duty work. We’ve been here in Sector 18 for quite some time now. Most of our customers are locals or people who work in the nearby offices and factories. The atmosphere here is very relaxed. We don't have salesmen jumping on you as soon as you walk in. Usually, someone is just sitting at the back working on a machine with a screwdriver. We spend a lot of time cleaning and oiling the machines to keep them in good shape. It’s a simple trade, really. People bring in their old machines that have been sitting in a cupboard for years, and we see if we can get them running again. Or they come looking for something new that won’t break down on them. Sector 18 is a busy area, but our shop feels like a quiet little corner compared to the main road. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just know about sewing machines and we help people find what they need. It’s a small, local operation and we like keeping it that way. If you need a machine, you just come by and have a look.
