Ever Green Vegetable & Fruit Shop

If you are in Gurgaon Sector 56, you might have seen Ever Green Vegetable & Fruit Shop. We are right in Phase 2, directly opposite the Milk Bar. It’s a busy little corner of the neighborhood. We start pretty early in the morning, getting the crates off the trucks while the sun is just coming up. The air is always a bit damp from the mist we put on the greens to keep them from wilting. We don't have a big air-conditioned showroom. It’s just a regular shop with wooden crates and some scales that have been around for years. We spend our day sorting through tomatoes and stacking onions. The floor gets a bit messy with leaves and dirt, but that’s just how it is when you’re dealing with fresh produce every day. People from the nearby apartments stop by on their way home from work. We know most of our regulars by name and what they usually like to buy. It’s not a complicated business. We just buy what looks good at the market and sell it here. Sometimes the fruit isn't perfect, but we try to keep things honest with our customers. If something is a bit too ripe, we will tell you. We aren't a big supermarket chain, just a small local shop trying to make a living. The noise from the road is constant, especially in the evenings when everyone is out shopping for their dinner and the streetlights finally flicker on.
