Balaji Carpet Industry

If you walk down Station Road near Mulla Talab, you’ll find our place. It is called Balaji Carpet Industry. We have been here for a good amount of time now. The shop is usually full of rolls and stacks of different carpets. Some are heavy, some are light. It gets pretty dusty sometimes because of all the fabric around. We spend a lot of our mornings just moving things from one side of the room to the other so people can walk through. It isn’t a very fancy setup, just a regular workplace where we keep the stock and talk to whoever comes in. Usually, it’s locals from around Mulla Talab who stop by. They ask about prices or look at the patterns we have out. Sometimes the tea guy comes by and we take a break. The building isn't brand new or anything like that. It has been through many rainy seasons. We just keep the door open and wait for the day to go by. Most of the work involves lifting and carrying, which is tiring for the back. We try to keep things organized but with carpets, it is hard. They take up a lot of floor space. If you are looking for the shop, just look for the big sign on Station Road. It’s easy to miss if you are driving fast. We are usually here until late evening before heading home.
