The bus stand road in Gurgaon is always full of dust and people running to catch their rides. We are right there, opposite the main bus stand, so we see everyone coming and going. The noise from the horns is constant, but you get used to it after a week or two of working here. Our shop is easy to spot if you are looking for it. We have the old-style barber chairs that are heavy and made of metal. They are comfortable enough. A lot of men come in for a quick shave or a trim before they head out on a long bus journey. We keep a stack of newspapers on the side table, though they usually get messy by noon. The floor is covered in hair most of the day because we stay busy. We have a small sink at the back that leaks a tiny bit if you don't turn it off just right. It is a practical place. We don't have air conditioning, just two big fans on the wall that blow the air around. The light comes in from the front door which we keep open to let the breeze in. It is a 122001 area code spot, very central and easy to get to. We've been here long enough that the bus drivers know us by name. It is just daily life for us, nothing special or fancy, just cutting hair and talking about the weather. We keep our razors sharp and our brushes clean. The mirror is a bit cloudy at the edges but you can still see fine.
