Akriti Beauty Parlour

We have our little shop over in Punjabi Bagh West, right at Shop No 1 A/35. Akriti Beauty Parlour isn’t a very big place, but we’ve managed to fit in everything we need to get the job done. We have two main chairs for hair and a small partitioned area in the back for other things. The floor is covered in white tiles that we have to sweep constantly because of all the hair that falls. We usually have the local radio station playing softly in the background just to fill the silence. It’s a neighborhood shop, so we mostly see the same faces every week. Some of the ladies come in just to chat for a bit while they get their nails done. We have a big glass window in the front that lets in a lot of natural light, which is helpful. The chairs are comfortable enough but they’ve been used a lot so the leather is starting to show some wear. We keep our supplies in a tall cabinet that we sometimes have to kick to get the door to shut properly. It’s not a fancy place with expensive decorations, but it’s clean and it’s where we work every day from morning until late evening. We don’t really do much in the way of advertising, as most people just see our sign when they’re walking down the street or hear about us from a friend.
