The noise of hammers and machines is something you hear all day long. Our shop on Dbn Road isn't very large, but we pack a lot into it. We work on various engineering jobs, mostly focused on the stuff the local industries need. There’s always a layer of iron dust on everything. It’s a tough job, and your hands stay dirty no matter how much you wash them. We’ve been doing this for a long time. The street outside is always busy with tractors and trucks moving through. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room with magazines. If you come by, you’ll probably find us in the middle of a job, and we might have to shout a bit to be heard over the noise. That’s just the way it is at Ace Engineer. We try to keep things simple. People bring in a drawing or a broken part, and we see what we can do. It’s not always perfect, but we put in the effort. It’s a local business, run by local people who grew up around here. We just want to do the work and go home at the end of the day. The tea shop around the corner is where we take our breaks. Sometimes we talk about the jobs we have or just about nothing at all. It keeps us going through the afternoon.
