Out here in Karalapadu village, we handle the Ultra Tech Cement Ltd operations for the Piduguralla Mandal area. The office is basically set up at the home of Siva Reddy's son in Guntur district. It is a rural location, so we are right in the middle of the community we serve. Life moves at a different pace in the village compared to the big cities, but the cement business is always steady because people are constantly building or fixing up their homes. We don't have a storefront with big glass windows or anything. It’s a practical workspace where we manage the local distribution. Most of the people who come by are neighbors or local contractors from around Piduguralla. We know everyone by name and usually have a bit of a chat before getting down to business. Being in Andhra Pradesh, the heat is something we just deal with every day while we track the bags coming in. Sometimes the roads out to the village can be a bit rough for the heavy lorries, but we manage to keep things moving. It’s an honest way to make a living, helping provide the materials needed for the local growth. We stay busy with the paperwork and making sure the supply stays consistent for the farmers and builders around Karalapadu.
