Our place is actually a bit different because we are located in Quarter No. 52. This is in Narasimhapuri village, which is part of the Karampudi area in the Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh. It’s a much more rural setting than some of the other offices. Being in a quarter means the work and the living space are very close together. You get a real sense of community out here in the village. Sri Chakra Cements Ltd. has been a presence here for quite some time. The surroundings are mostly quiet, except for when the trucks come through or during the harvest seasons. We don’t have a big fancy office building with a lobby. It’s just a practical room where we keep our ledgers and handle the local business. The weather can get quite hot in Guntur, so we spend a lot of time trying to stay cool while we work. People in the village know where to find us if they need anything. We don’t use much technology beyond what is absolutely necessary. It’s more about face-to-face talk and keeping things honest. The trees around the quarters give some nice shade in the afternoons. It’s a simple life out here in Narasimhapuri. We wake up, do our tasks, and watch the sun go down over the fields. It’s not a fast-paced life, but it is a steady one.
