Anwar Biryani Restaurant

You can find us at the 12th lane in Arundalpet, Guntur. We are right opposite the Oriental Bank. Guntur is known for its food, and we’ve been trying to do our part with our biryani. It’s a small restaurant. We don’t have many tables, so it gets full pretty quickly during lunch and dinner. The kitchen is right there, and you can smell the spices as soon as you turn into the lane. We don’t use any fancy machines or pre-made mixes. Everything is done by hand, the old way. My brothers and I run the place. One of us handles the cash and the others are in the back making sure the rice is cooked just right. It’s a hot and busy job, especially in the Guntur heat. We don't have a big menu. We just do a few types of biryani and some sides. People like it because it’s consistent. We don’t change the recipe to try and be trendy. We’ve had the same regulars for years. Sometimes we run out of food early, and we just have to close up for the day. That’s how it goes when you’re a small shop. We don’t have a website or any delivery apps. You just have to come down to the 12th lane if you want a plate. It’s just honest food in a busy part of town. We are just a family business doing what we know how to do best every day.
